Me at 3

Me at 3

I was born into a family of 6 children—3 girls and 3 boys. I am the third born and the middle daughter.

I grew up on a farm with no cows, no horses, and no pigs—just chickens—10,000 chickens, and none were pets. However, we did have a dog. First, there was Skippy; then there was Cindy.

I’d like to say I always wanted to write, but I can’t. I wanted to be a marine biologist. However, with parental restrictions limiting my college choices to within the state, I opted for Plan B. After all, it’s hard to study marine life when you’re land locked.

I quickly realized that my heart didn’t belong under the sea, but in a preschool classroom. My  Plan B was actually my Plan A.
It was here, nurturing young children that my desire to write was nurtured.

DID YOU KNOW…
I’d rather walk or hike than ride in fast cars.
I’d rather be in my garden than at the mall.
I’d rather eat ice cream than sea food.
I’d rather read to a child than have a night out on the town.

AND THE TRUTH IS….
I married my Prince Charming while I was in college and together we raised 4 little princes who love to read.
My palace is over 1500 miles from the palace at Disney World.
My life is filled with wonder and gratitude.
